11U Gauchos Place 3rd in AAU Nationals
One on the winningest coach in Gaucho history has done it again. Coach Tommy Swinton has led another team to a top 5 finish in the AAU Nationals. Known as a tough hard nose coach who wins with defense and toughness instilled his will on our Young Choz.
In pool play our Young Choz fought a Knight, ate a Shark and rode a Bull. The Choice Management Knights went down 56-26. Then our Young Choz fed on the Broward Sharks 76-44. Did you know that Kobe Bryant used to watch sharks to see how they eat, well he needs to see how our Young Choz eat. In the final game of pool play these hungry Gauchos rode the Brevard Bulls to a 59-41 victory.
In the championship bracket play our Young Choz shot down the Memphis War Eagles with a 68-39 ground attack. They then lit up the Night Rydas elite 54-45.
Our Gauchos had secured a place in the final four. They are now on of the best teams in the tournament. With what had been a fairly easy march through their opponents, our Young Choz were caught off guard when they ran up on Team Florida Prospects. In a hard fought game our Young Choz came up short in a 59-55 defeat.
In the consolation game, our Young Choz remembered their championship pedigree by blasting Team Wall 61-37 to secure third place in the 2016 AAU Nationals.
